We took a quick afternoon trip up to the lighthouse on the point of Byron Bay. Here you can find the most Easterly point of mainland Australia and we were able to stand there! There is a wonderful walk on a oath that leads you by the beaches and through the bush, but since we were pressed for time we just drove right up to the top and got the quick tour. The lighthouse was built in 1901 and from afar you would imagine that it is quite larger than it actually is. Going another thirty feet up to the top deck cost extra so we decided that it may. Not be a much different view from up there. But either way the views were breathtaking and it was worth every cent that we had to pay to park to save time to enjoy the view. Although it was a bit cloudy we were still able to see a great distance and enjoy what the lighthouse had to offer!
Note: the last picture was taken from down on the beach where you can see the lighthouse up on the point. But there was a beautiful rainbow on this particular afternoon as well. Lucky day!
Until later,
Jes and Brian

Jes! Bryan! I fell way behind on keeping up with your blog and had to go back to March. I am glad to see that you are safe and happy as you explore! How wonderful and exciting! :D I had to comment because...I WAS WHERE YOU WERE! I went to Byron Bay back when I was 14! I stood at the most-easterly point! I just wanted to share because I had one of those cosmic, woah, this world is so small moments and had to share. Take care and keep adventuring! (Even though Lakeside isn't the same without you!)
